      Dear Diary,

Today I went shopping with James. We saw a poster for a photo treasure hunt. This means there’s a list of clues to solve, and you have to take a photo of the answer to each one. It was at 10 a.m. in Oak Park. We decided we definitely wanted to win the treasure hunt!

There was a clue for each item on the treasure hunt list. Some of the clues were codes. I liked this word puzzle clue: ‘When you see me, you also see you’, and next to it there was a word written like this:

      Sunday, 31st March

What did it mean? We were thinking hard when James had an idea! Maybe we had to look at the word in a mirror? We followed the clue to the waterfall!

We were taking a photo of the waterfall when we saw my aunt searching around the plants. She said she lost her gold ring the day before, but she wasn’t sure where.

We finished the treasure hunt at 12 p.m. We didn’t win, but it was brilliant!

Later that day, we were checking our photos when we noticed something gold in the waterfall photo. Perhaps it was the missing ring? We searched the water and found it!
