      (Not) Acting as a Child?

How to become a child actor? I’ve done 1 research on it recently and it’s easier than you think.

Firstly, the good news 2 that there is real demand for child actors. Did you know that Disney themselves employ over 1,000 3  every year! So, wherever you live, look for places where you can begin your acting career. There will be people in your area who work for theatres, schools and churches that may need your skills.

Secondly, practise at home. Learn lines from your favourite films or TV 4  and read them aloud dramatically. Use simple props to help you get into character: a pair of dark 5  to become a police officer, for example.

And finally, if one day you find yourself in front of a camera or on a stage, don’t forget your 6  and always be polite. Nobody wants to work with a troublesome star – no matter how young or old!

      Abbeydale Village News

It is not often you get to say ‘happy 400th birthday!’ but that’s exactly what we did in our village last weekend. 400 years ago, a group of monks decided to build an abbey, or church next to the river, and our village grew up around it. The ruins of the abbey are still standing today and that’s where the anniversary celebrations were held.

Saturday began with an early morning fun run. It was 1 nice / weather and when the sun rose, the sky turned a(n) 2 very / pretty orangey-blue colour. When the runners reached the finish next to the abbey, the sun was already high in the sky, the music had started and the smell of 3 nice tasting / food was everywhere.

By midday, everyone from the area was there enjoying the 4 nice / sunshine. All around the ruins, there were colourful market stalls and people selling 5 nice / local food. There were some great live bands and a(n) 6 really / fabulous play which told the story of the village.

Unfortunately, the traffic in the village was 7 bad / . Trying to drive through the village was almost impossible. Maybe next year one of the farmers’ fields outside the village can be used as a car park.

Except for the traffic, it was a 8 nice / day. I think every town and village should have a day when they celebrate their community and its history.
